Circle of life

Last evening when I was starting back from the fitness class around 8.15p I noticed that the sun had already set and it was twilight. Wow - summer is almost gone already! Time seems to be in fast forward mode! Then I remembered the pictures.

There is a tree right across my apartment whose leaves, in deference to "Fall", had turned a deep shade of pink a few days after I had moved into my apartment. I snapped a pic and put it up on my blog.

It had struck me then, why not take pics of the same tree for all four seasons? In spite of my not-too-great memory, I did manage to remember to click pics during the appropriate seasons. And yesterday, I realized, I had the pictures from all four seasons :-)!

Here they are:

Fall - Pretty in pink!

Winter - Quite stark!

Spring - I got lucky :-)!
These lovely white flowers could be spotted for about two days only.

Summer - Green, green, green!

And so, life goes on ...

And ah, that reminds me, soon, it will be a year since I moved into this apartment. I swear, I still feel like a "new" resident.

Is it just me or does everyone feel like the days are simply hurtling by?

Prabhu - enna, ulagey maayam maadhiri irukku :-)? What happened?

Cheer up - if not anything, every year we get older by a year whether we do something worthwhile or not. Wait a minute, that does not sound encouraging. But oh well, you get my point na - cheer up :-)!

Now that you have successfully cataloged the pictures of the tree during the different seasons its time for you to look at the different layers of life that dwell within the tree... Isnt it amazing that the tree itself can be a world for those tiny creatures that dwell within it? We have many worlds within this world we live in...a point to ponder about indeed!!

Really nice pictures...Good idea that.

And as for time hurtling by..it depends on which side of the hill you're sitting on. But if it has hurtled by for you, I think you should consider yourself lucky :)

great set of pix, ma'm and cute observation ;-) but you do have that fancy with the passage of time! what can be done?

Robbie - Hmm, that's an interesting though. You know, I went one step further and thought of this: What if we all are also actually inside one giant tree? For all we know we also are could be a part of a kutti world in another huuuuuuuuuge planet. Okay, I think I have confused you enough :-P!

Madsies - yaay, I have got company :-)!

Vicky - Welcome aboard :-)! Yup, all pics mine, taken with my own digi cam. Ah, I am glad to know that they are good enough to be considered as "borrowed" from elsewhere :-)!

Rads - ah, one more person :-)!

Dinesh - Thank you :-)! At this rate, I will be on the "other" side soon!

Saumya - Thank you :-)!

Ramki - Thank you :-)! Ah, mez Jill of all trades u see ;-P!

Spark - thank you :-)! Cute observation? Cute? Onnum panna mudiyadhunnu theriyum. That is why cribbing ;-P!

Hey Arch,
This is exactly what I was thinking about too.. hmm what if the world we lived in was only a tree and a part of a bigger planet.. assuming that the universe itself were a biosystem of sorts... hmmm... unfortunately my biologist mind cannot think any further. I was fascinated reading Isaac Asimov's sci fi while growing up. Isaac Asimov also happens to be a biochemist...
I agree that time has been flying by me, I really feel like stopping time and harnessing it, dont feel like I have accomplished a lot this summer and already it is fall!! Jeepers creepers!!

Ramki - I guess it depends on how much interested a person is in writing blogs. For me, writing comes easy - I can ramble on in excruciating detail about almost anything - and blogging gives me readers too (yaaaay :-D) - so its a fun thing to do :-). Do continue to blog - it grows on you!

Prasanna - thank you :-)! It takes a romantic Piscean to recognize one :-D!

b v n - Thank you :-)! I think FL shd be having Fall/Spring too no matter how fleeting - after all, Cal does. But yeah, not sure - please confirm :-)!

Robbie - Ooooh, I did not go into such intricate details about the bio-system (my comp sci mind kind of restricts my thinking in the Bio direction :-((). Yeah, Isaac Asimov's stories are usually great! Phew - good to know that many people are noticing this phenomenon of time vanishing without having an adequate number of activities to show for it!

hey nice colorful pics !
i was raring to take pics of a similar tree here in bglr..but was too lazy to do it.
its very very nice :)

I used to be biased into thinking that being a biologist makes me realize more and more about what life is about but as days pass by I realize that even if I werent a biologist I would have been inclined to think in that direction, I have come to realize that being a biologist is not really an essential thing to understand life and ponder about the intricacies of the systems around us, it just requires a fertile imaginative, healthy mind and I am sure from what you write here that you have one.

Cheers.

Anon - thank you :-)!

Robbie - glad to know someone has the confidence that I have the required qualifications :-)! But yeah, I guess willingness is more required than anything else to think of anything from any point of view!

Pratap - it will be cool to see ur pics too! And yeah, welcome aboard!

Saranya - post your pics too :-D! Maybe time goes faster in the USA - have not confirmed that theory yet - but me feels so!
